Aaron Benowitz is originally from Plainview, Long Island. He has received his BA in Music Education with a concentration in classical guitar at the Crane School of Music in SUNY Potsdam. During his time there, he has studied guitar under well establish Dr. Douglas Rubio as well as theory, composition and jazz studies with esteemed professionals such as Dr. Phil Salathé, Dr. Gregory Wanamaker, Professor Bret Zvacek and many other. He now attends the University of Southern California Thornton School of Music where he is getting his MM in Studio Guitar/ Jazz studies. While there he is studying with World renown musicians such as Frank Potenza (Joe Pass's pupil), Bob Mintzer (Frontman of the Yellowjackets), Richard Smith and many others. Aaron has played and performed in many different groups ranging in genres from classical to jazz and ensembles from big band to solo concerts.
